SRG sets up regional base

Longbridge Innovation Centre

International scientific and engineering recruitment company SRG has selected the Innovation Centre at Longbridge Technology Park as the hub for its Birmingham operation.

The company has taken 793 sq ft of office space at the £6 million Innovation Centre to accommodate its 8 strong team and to facilitate its future growth as part of the Midlands’ newest technology park.

SRG, which specialises in providing recruitment solutions to customers within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemicals, food and general science based sectors, has relocated from an office in central Birmingham, where the company has operated since 1992. SRG has 8 offices around the UK and more across the USA.

James Windridge, regional manager for SRG said: "On looking for premises to relocate to from our more traditional office location, it was clear Longbridge Innovation Centre had the facilities and space to suit our needs. In addition, the chance of establishing a presence for SRG in an area that will become an important technological hub for the region was a great opportunity for us.

"Our previous premises were not very customer friendly and we had many difficulties with extra available space for meetings, seminars or other events. The opportunity to share the facilities on offer at the Innovation Centre presented us with the ideal solution. The attractive rents and lease-terms on offer made moving into larger premises a less risky proposition, the set-up of the Innovation Centre provides a much needed gap in the market for expanding companies of a similar size to us."

Longbridge Technology Park is the first phase of the largest regeneration project in the West Midlands with more than 400 acres set to be transformed by joint land owner and developer St Modwen to provide a sustainable community with the creation of thousands of new jobs, new homes and a new town centre with an excellent public transport network.

James Windridge continued: "With all of our staff based in Birmingham and the surrounding area, the location of the Innovation Centre also made perfect sense from a logistical point of view. Most of our staff drive to work and use the secure on site parking while others choose make the most of the adjacent train station and travel by rail."

The Innovation Centre offers an ideal solution for start-up and medium sized businesses offering a full range of business support services including state-of-the-art IT and telecommunications to suit all requirements. Offices are available furnished or unfurnished and offered on short-term leases including access to a range of meeting and conference rooms, dedicated and visitor on-site car parking.

Longbridge senior development manager Mike Murray said: "An international company choosing to establish its regional base at Longbridge is another coup for the Technology Park. SRG is an ideal tenant for the Innovation Centre and is keen to make the most of the technological community within the building. We are confident more businesses will be attracted to the site and contribute to our aim of reaffirming Longbridge’s reputation as a world famous centre for innovation."
